"Club Cool" - in Future World
For years guests have visited Ice Station Cool in Future World
to cool off and get samples of Coca-Cola products from around
the world. Ice Station Cool will have a new name Club Cool
when it reopens in winter 2005. There's no age limit for this
club, and the samples of an interesting array of Coca-Cola
products are still offered on a complimentary basis. Club Cool
is located near the central fountain in Future World. Don't forget to try the Beverly.
Spaceship Earth:
Constructed in 1981 The Epcot® landmark, is a geosphere. This giant "golf ball" is 180'high, 165' in diameter, and is no lightweight at 16 million pounds. It encompasses 2.2 million cubic feet of space and has an outside surface diameter of 150,000 square feet. It is covered by 11,324 triangular panels
and held aloft by 6 support legs that are sunk over 100 feet into the ground.
The hieroglyphics on the walls in the ancient Egyptian scene of the attraction are authentic recreations of actual hieroglyphics. The words being dictated by the Pharaoh were taken from an actual letter sent by a pharaoh to one of his agents.
Spaceship Earth has a unique gutter system so that guests passing by do not have rain dumped on them. The panels were developed to suck in the water as it hits them and in turn it replenishes the water around the World Showcase Lagoon.
More than eighty powerful lighting fixtures illuminate the many night time moods of Space Ship Earth EPCOT®, as created by lighting designer Joe Falzetta.
Mission Space:
If you accept the mission you will engage in a one-of-a-kind astronaut experience that launches you into a simulated space adventure – from pulse-racing liftoff to the sensations of traveling though outer space on a mission to Mars.
The new attraction is the most technologically advanced ever created by Disney. In association with former NASA advisors, astronauts and scientists, Walt Disney Imagineering developed Mission: SPACE as the first ride system ever created to take guests straight up in simulated flight. FASTPASS Ride
Universe of Energy:
The pre-show finds Ellen (Ellen DeGeneres), in the midst of a nightmare where she is a contestant on the quiz show Jeopardy and is slated against her college rival, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. All of the question are energy-related, something Ellen knows little about. Her neighbor, who just happens to be Bill Nye Science Guy, takes her on a quest to learn more about energy, starting with the beginning of the Universe. The show moves to a 600 seat theatre, and the theatre itself rotates and breaks up into 6 enormous "cars" that accompany Ellen and Bill as they travel through the dinosaur age. Amazing Audio-animatronic dinosaurs are there to fright and delight! This is a total sensory experience, from the attention paid to detail on the dinosaurs, to the strategic lighting, the feeling of the clammy air of the primeval forest and the smell of the sulfur from the nearby volcano.
Wonders of Life: (seasonal)
The pavilion is a sparkling gold geodesic dome. Visitors are given an informative, innovative and inspiring look at health and fitness. Upon entering the pavilion, you are in the Fitness Fairground where there are lots of hands-on activities to increase the entertaining educational experience. There you'll find Wonder Cycles where you can ride a path through Disneyland® Park. Have your baseball, golf or tennis swing analyzed by a professional in the Coach's Corner or use the touch-screen computer at the Met Lifestyle Revue where you enter information on your age, height, weight, diet, exercise habits and stress level to have your lifestyle analyzed. The Sensory Funhouse has some wonderful scientific and educational exhibits. An 8 minute film "Goofy About Health", uses clips of old Goofy films as we watch him transform from an out of shape slob to a fine physical specimen by improving his lifestyle.
Test Track :
The premise for this thrill ride is to participate in automobile testing practices.
You'll advance into a holding area for the pre-show. The 4 minute film on vehicle
safety also gives you a taste of what's to come in the actual ride. Visitors are
then loaded into the 6 passenger open cars and with a screech of the tires are
off on their own road test. The 5 minute test ride begins with a climb up a steep
hill and then goes jolting over a cobblestone surface. Your car spins out without
anti-lock brakes, and then you lose control again to test the anti-lock braking
system. You will experience extreme climate conditions, a corrosiveness test,
and finally will crash through a wall leading to the outside track where you'll
zoom along through tight hairpin turns reaching speeds of 65 miles per hour
before decelerating and moving into the unloading area. FASTPASS Ride
Living Seas:
You'll hear the roar of the waves as they crash against the natural coastline simulated rockwork out front of the pavilion. Featuring one of the largest saltwater aquariums in the world, the Living Seas was
developed by Walt Disney Imagineering in consultation with some of the world's foremost oceanographic experts. A 7 minute long special effects film shows how the earth was formed and the critical role of
the ocean as an important source of natural resources. From here, the hydrolators carry guests to the "ocean" floor where seacabs are waiting to take them to Sea Base Alpha, a prototype underwater research facility. Here you'll travel through a 400' long tunnel through a Caribbean coral reef where you can see over 4000 sea creatures in the 5.7 million gallon saltwater aquarium. This aquarium features over two hundred species of sea life including playful dolphins, menacing sharks, gliding rays and a 500 lb. Grouper, as well as a rainbow of multi-colored tropical fish. The tank is 200' in diameter, is 27' deep and the glass is 8 inches thick.

Crush" opens the door to a new realm of theme park experiences --
one in which Disney guests and their favorite animated characters
can talk, joke and play together in a way that only Disney can create.
Innoventions:
As you pass Spaceship Earth, the two crescent shaped buildings that cup the dancing fountain house Innoventions East and West. This is a walk-through showcase for major corporations to preview new products and systems that may not be available on the market for years. Some of the hands-on displays include computers, toys, games, pagers, telephones and musical instruments. The displays are ever changing as per Walt Disney's wish for Epcot®. Here you can enjoy playing any of the 140 new and proposed SEGA games, experiment with new computer hardware and software, surf the Net, see an experimental electric car, participate in an "interview" with Jay Leno, view energy efficient homes, fax AT&T postcards to friends and family all over the world and watch the creative minds of Walt Disney Imagineers at work. Bill Nye, Science Guy stars in a multimedia show that introduces guests to the concept of Innoventions. Discover magazine showcases the annual winners of its competition for the best and brightest technological advances.
"Honey, I Shrunk The Audience"
Professor Wayne Szalinski is at it again and this time you're the one who gets shrunk. This interactive adventure goes beyond 3-D with incredible special effects and awesome surprises. Be ready to make nice to mice, face the fangs of a python and duck when a dog has a very itchy nose. You might feel small, but your laughs will be big!
